Kari Sam Wuhrer, born on 28th April 1968 is an American Actress and Singer. She began her professional career as a teenager and is best known for her roles as Maggie Beckett in the television series Sliders and also as the Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), a payroll accountant, and German American Andrew Wuhrer, an officer in the police force and a car salesman. She has 3 siblings. She was a teenage singer who performed in clubs and hid from her family for the sake of performing. Following her studies in acting at the Wooster School, at the age of 13, she was a drama student at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. Additionally, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under renowned Uta Hagen. Her birthplace was in Brookfield on the 28th of April on the 28th of April, 1967. She is the daughter the father of a German American and a German-American mother. Kari is one of the three youngest children. The singer was in nightclubs when she was a teenager sneaking out of the home to perform. When she was 13 years older, Kari studied acting at the Wooster School, then enrolled in drama studies at Tisch School of the Arts in New York University, Columbia University, Marymount Manhattan College; plus, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art with renowned teacher Uta Hagen. Kari was first introduced to acting at the age of 13 and got her big break in 1987, when she was featured on MTV Remote Control.
