She also plays a prominent role on television , playing roles such as "Code Black", "The Newsroom", "How to Escape with Murder," "Trophy Wife," "The Morning Show" and other shows. Harden has also been seen on stage in the Broadway productions "Angels in America" and "God of Carnage." Marcia Gay Harden was born in San Diego, California on 14 August 1959 to Beverly the housewife and Thad an officer of the US Navy. She is mother to an older brother, as well as three sisters. Because of her father's job as diplomat, the family traveled around the globe including countries like Germany, Japan and Greece. Harden attended Surrattsville High School, Clinton before settling in Maryland. In 1980, the student attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a bachelor's degree in theatre. Harden was admitted to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1988 to earn her MFA.
